FUTSAL COACHING:

DISCIPLINARY RULES FOR A FUTSAL CLUB

What advantages will you get as a manager if you have disciplinary rules?

1. Your players will know what you expect them to do and how to behave;

2. Your players will know how you don't want them to behave;

3. New players will be taking you seriously from the very beginning and the public image of a club will be more positive – so it will easier to attract new players to your club;

4. By having disciplinary rules for a club, a manager gives a clear message to his players that they have to take their work seriously. It creates a healthy working environment, which is necessary to improve and get good results in the future

As a manager or a coach you should remember that the process of teaching players how to play futsal, along with all other processes, is only possible when you have a disciplined group of players at your disposal. Otherwise you will be wasting your own time and that of your players.

It is important that your list of disciplinary rules shouldn't be too long – one A4 page is enough. Rules should also be precise and give a clear instructions based on “cause and effect” (for example: Cause - “If a player is late to a training session for less than 20 minutes”; effect “a coach has a right to give a player extra exercises to do”).
